The Public Health Planning, Policy and Performance Advisor will be involved in complex, demanding and diverse projects, offering planning and project management support to team and Managers, as well as having the opportunity to lead on pieces of work.This will include analysis of significant policy developments/changes impacting public health, preparation of performance reporting and papers, coordination of planning processes, horizon scanning to identify emerging issues and opportunities of significance to the National Public Health Service across the region.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.
We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.About youYou are someone able to demonstrate an understanding of organisational risk and compliance, legal and regulatory requirements regarding relevant regulations and standards in New Zealand, to ensure compliance with these requirements.You can demonstrate mature communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and present effectively, and to develop, unify and maintain strong internal and external relationships essential for achieving sustainable outcomes.A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualificationExperience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in actionA minimum of two-three years relevant experience in health, public sector or local government planning and/or policyExperience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide adviceSome leadership experience, that may include having designed and managed a project of work and resourcesDemonstrable understanding & experience working in partnership with Māori and/or Pacific People communitiesClean New Zealand Driver LicenceWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
