  • Registered Nurse - Permanent Position 72 hours per fortnight

About the Role

You will be working within a large Renal Service and be responsible for coordinating and assisting in our General Nephrology clinics at the Regional Renal Centre at Waikato Hospital . You will be working in this clinic as a sole nurse so will be required to demonstrate excellent clinical skills for a complex patient group.

There may also be opportunity to support the Renal Educator.

  • Be part of the national transformation in Health
  • Provide expert nursing care to a broad range Renal patients requiring Nephrology care
  • Work with the Nephrologists and booking clerks to ensure General Nephrology clinics run smoothly
  • Be skilled in managing emergency and admission processes
  • Be part of the one of the biggest Renal units in New Zealand
  • Be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team

About the Service

The Regional Renal Service provides acute and chronic Renal services for Waikato, Lakes, Bay of Plenty and Tairawhiti. This includes all aspects of renal care including Hospital based dialysis, Home therapies for both Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis, Chronic Kidney Disease management, Renal Transplantation and General Nephrology We are the second largest Renal service in New Zealand.

About you
  • Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate
  • Minimum of 5 years Nursing
  • Have Renal Nursing experience
  • Working towards or achieve post graduate studies with the potential to develop as an RN Nurse Prescriber
  • Be flexible and a team player
  • Enthusiastic and hardworking
  • Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
