Casual Alarm & CCTV Monitoring Operator
Tarnix Security offers Alarm and CCTV monitoring for residential, commercial, industrial and government clients and we are looking for sharp-multi tasker who can make good decisions under pressure to join the Team as a Casual Monitoring Operator.

Role:
You will be responsible for answering incoming calls regarding alarm queries, technician queries etc. as well as contacting clients for alarm activations and tech issues while providing excellent customer service.Additionally you will be responsible for live surveillance of CCTV networks, and undertaking footage reviews of CCTV networks, with the aim of reducing harm and increasing the safety of our client sites and communities. This work requires liaising with local councils and emergency services, particularly the NZ Police.
This role is based in our Te Puke Monitoring Operations Centre. Shifts are approximately 8 hours long and we are looking for candidates who are flexible and can work our 05:30 am or 13:30 pm shifts. Full training is provided for the role with competitive wages on offer, depending on your existing skills and experience the starting hourly rate is $25.92 to $28.08 (incl casual loading). We operate 24/7, 365 days per year with rostered shifts (Day, Swing & Night).
Responsibilities:- Contact clients for alarm activations, faults, and signals
- Liaise with clients through phone and email to provide support on queries
- CCTV network operation and response e.g. Use cameras on-demand to track vehicles, pedestrians, or gain observation on incidents
- Work effectively in high-pressure situations
- Provide clear, calm instructions to emergency services
- Excellent phone manner and customer service skills
- Flexiblility with shift times and days and the Ability to work alone & within an enclosed Monitoring Station environment
- General IT skills and technology knowledge (e.g., Microsoft Office products, VMS knowledge would be favourable)
- Touch typing is essential and computer keyboard skills (e.g. quick key use) is favourable
- Honest, reliable, self driven and have high integrity
You MUST be at least 18 years old, have a clean criminal record and ability to pass a security clearance check to hold a COA, it would be favorable if you already have your COA
