Light Vehicle Mechanic - Waikato - Hamilton

About the role:

• Stellar Recruitment currently have multiple Light Vehicle Mechanic positions available in the Waikato region
• Full time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
• Your ordinary hours of work will be 40 hours per week normally worked between 6:00am-6:00pm Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to work the occasional Saturday.
• $28 to $30 per hour

What you need to be successful in this role:

• You must have at least 2 years of relevant work experience
• You must be able to work within the timeframe of the project and be a reliable member of the team.
• Knowing, understanding, and complying with Health and Safety rules and regulations

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Repairs to various components, including but not limited to, ignition systems, electrical circuits, cooling systems, engine components, petrol fuel systems, and emission control systems.
• Inspect, service and/or repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, drive assembles, steering, brake and suspension systems, transmissions, batteries.
• Carry out diagnostics and troubleshooting both electrically and mechanically
• Perform vehicle maintenance and service as per manufacturing guidelines
• Operate a variety of hand and special tools.
• Operate and inspect various items of vehicle safety equipment as required by Supervisor (if trained, assessed and deemed competent to do so).
• Assess, identify and notify foreman of any technical issues or escalations
