Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleHauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is inviting applications for two fixed-term Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist positions within a secondary care setting at Tauranga Hospital.

These roles are well suited to Generalist Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. While primarily based at Tauranga Hospital, the positions include approximately one day per fortnight working at Whakatāne Hospital, located 78 km (around a one-hour drive) away.Applications are invited from consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and Advanced Trainees in their final year of training.About the Team/Service/LocationThe post involves an equal share of the on-call roster, covering both Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The current average call frequency in Tauranga is 1:10 with split weekends. Outpatient/Daytime responsibilities include Antenatal clinics, Gynaecology and colposcopy clinics and Theatre when not on call. Cover is provided by 8 Registrars and 4 SHO's on a common roster with a requirement to participate in teaching, service development and clinical governance.We have a 21-bed inpatient maternity ward, 7 delivery rooms and 12 bed SCBU.
Gynaecology is on a shared surgical ward. Applicants should hold FRANZCOG or equivalent. A subspecialty interest is desirable but not essential.
