Field Service Technician - Aged Care

A position is now available for an experienced, skilled Biomedical Technician, who will be responsible for undertaking on-site service, repairs, maintenance and calibration of medical equipment in hospitals and healthcare environments - including electrical and mechanical servicing.To be successful, you will need to have a minimum of 2 years industry experience, excellent time management and problem-solving ability. Whilst this position is Wellington based, you will also be covering the Lower North Island and Top of the South Island also.

Duties:
- Service, repair and maintain healthcare equipment efficiently and cost-effectively
- Capture all job details accurately in the internal job costing system.
- Inspect and test equipment for the aged-care market in line with AS/NZS standards & stay current with industry best practice and standards.
- Communicate clearly with customers, site managers, builders and clients on service status and repair timelines.
- Deliver, install and assemble equipment, including Overhead Lifting Hoist (OHL) installations
- Support inwards/outwards goods and general warehouse duties as needed.
- Manage inventory of parts, tools and consumables; maintain stock levels for critical repairs.
- Produce accurate preventative and compliance reports
- Update the Service Admin team on repair needs for quoting and follow-up.
- Work safely and comply with Health & Safety and Quality Management System (QMS) policies and training requirements.
Skills and Experience:
- EWRB registration (Electrical Appliance Serviceperson – EAS, Electrical Service Technician – EST, or Electrician).
- Test & Tag qualification.
- Experience servicing medical/healthcare equipment highly desirable
- Practical experience with electrical devices, tools, general repairs and maintenance (2+ years in a similar role is an advantage).
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Excellent time management, organisation, customer service and communication
- High accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to multitask.
- Independent problem-solving, adaptability and a team-first mindset.
- Valid NZ driver licence
