Key Responsibilities of Systems Administrator:
  • Conduct regular updates, patches, and backups for both customs systems and core IT infrastructure. Monitor server performance (Windows/Linux) and optimize resource allocation for large-scale data processing demands.
  • Collaborate with senior systems administrators to integrate customs solutions into hybrid cloud environments (AWS/Azure). Maintain customs risk control systems, ensuring compatibility with existing enterprise infrastructure.
  • Bridge operations between on-premise customs servers and cloud platforms, ensuring seamless data synchronization and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Develop customized reporting tools (Power BI/Tableau) to visualize customs risk patterns, enabling data-driven decision-making for border control agencies.
  • Support for hardware, software, and network issues impacting customs operations. Resolve complex incidents involving firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Manage access controls for classified customs databases, conduct audit log reviews, and maintain compliance with data protection regulations. Implement proactive threat detection measures for sensitive border security data.
  • Liaise with customs software providers (e.g., ERP/risk assessment systems) to manage updates and resolve escalated issues. Train customs officers and external partners on system usage through tailored resources.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in system administration or comparable technical role
