We’re seeking an experienced and hands-on Civil Drainlaying Foreman to lead drainage crews on key utility projects across Central Lakes and Central Otago. This is a supervisory but active on-site role, overseeing installations of sewer, stormwater, and water systems while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

You'll be responsible for managing crews, reading and interpreting plans, coordinating with site management, and ensuring work meets council and industry standards.

• Lead the delivery of drainage installations including stormwater, sewer, and water mains
• Supervise and support drainlaying crews on site
• Interpret and work from plans, drawings, and job specifications
• Ensure work is completed to council and compliance standards
• Coordinate inspections, sign-offs, and QA documentation
• Manage health & safety on site including site setup, toolbox talks, and hazard identification
• Operate plant and machinery as needed to support the team
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery

You're a certified or experienced drainlayer who thrives in leadership. You bring practical expertise, strong communication skills, and a proactive, team-first mindset. You're confident running a crew, solving on-site challenges, and ensuring work is done safely and to spec.

• Certified experienced Civil Drainlayer, ideally with foreman/supervisor experience
• Strong understanding of NZ drainage standards and council compliance and approvals
• Ability to read plans, manage QA, and coordinate inspections
• Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor teams
• Solid health & safety awareness and site management capability
• Class 1 and ideally Class 2 license plus WTR endorsements
• Reliable, professional, and committed to high-quality outcomes
