CULINARY OPERATIONS ASSISTANT/STORE MANAGER
A position will become available for full time start 10th July for a Prep Assistant / Store Manager in our prestigious globally renowned culinary school Prep Kitchen.
You will be responsible for the smooth running of cooking classes by preparing ingredients for our Chef Instructors demonstration classes as well as our students' practical classes. You will be responsible for ensuring quality control and produce safe storage.
Our team here in the prep kitchen ensure the highest quality ingredients prepare served on time for our chef lecturers, clients & students.We are responsible for organising our well-trained group of kitchen hands and helping them achieve high standards in the demonstration and practical kitchens.
We are curriculum scheduled therefore offer a usual rostering of Monday to Friday.You may be required to work the odd Saturday and evenings as and when we have events on. We close for holiday over Christmas and New Year!

Good knowledge of produce, stock handling, rotation, receiving & storing goods is a must.Food hygiene and Personal hygiene is a necessity.
We deal with the up-to-date documentation of the food control plan and the training of those who work with us.
You will have good time management and a focus on productivity and efficient workflow, as any good Chef should have.
In this role it is required that you understand the workings of commercial kitchens, you will be trained on how the curriculum timetable of classes works and how to organise the produce for the classes. It will be expected that you have experience in food control, kitchen tidiness, food ordering and know how to self-motivate to work productively.

Based on a 40hour week. This fluctuates, some weeks we do more hours and then other weeks we do less. We work according to the student numbers and timetable.
