Maintenance Technician Fitter

Our client, is on the hunt for a qualified and experienced Maintenance Technician to join their Mt Wellington based team. In this role you will have the autonomy to plan work orders, estimate labour hours, required tools & necessary resources, while also being part of an experienced team who work co-operatively to achieve desired outcomes.
A typical day could involve working with the Site Services team on NH3 plant faults, performing diagnostics and repairs on pneumatics, PLCs, conveyors, pumps etc. or assisting with preparation and compliance of preventative maintenance checklists and other standardised procedures.

Success in this position will involve increasing production productivity by reducing plant downtime through mechanical/electrical repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
Shifts & Hours:- Operates on a 12 hr shift, 2-2-3 roster during peak season. 2 weeks on Days then 2 weeks on Nights with every second weekend free
- Off-peak shifts are a hybrid 5-2 shift of 5x 8.25hr days Mon-Fri & one Sunday a month
- Total package of up to $110k p.a

- Industrial electrician (EWRB registered with full electrical practicing license) with 5 years post qualification experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry
- Excellent initiative & problem solving abilities
- Self-motivated and able to manage own workload
- Good communication & the ability to work well with others
- Computer Literacy - Microsoft suite & knowledge of CMMS
- Applied knowledge of the installation of Danfoss and Allen Bradley variable speed drives desirable.
- Solid maintenance/engineering experience preferably from within FMCG or a Food manufacturing environment.
- Experience using JSAA and permit to work systems.
- Full clean Class 1 driver's license.
- 5+ years working with mechanical repairs and installations within a food manufacturing industry
- Managing of spare parts and materials
- Perform diagnostic tests and root cause analysis to figure out problems with machinery or equipment
- Routine inspection and testing of equipment and machinery
