Clinical Nurse Specialist Crohns and Colitisat Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Taranaki -
This is an advanced practice nursing role and the candidate is responsible for providing specialist education, assessment, and care and coordination to our growing Chrons and Colitis cohort. We require someone who can work alongside our current CNS to learn the role under their direction until such time as you are able to function independently.
You will maintain and enhance professional standards of nursing and participate as an effective member of the Te Manawa Taki region.Please click here to view the position descriptionAbout the Team/Service/ LocationThe Crohns and Colitis Clinical Nurse Specialists work closely with our Gastroenterology Clinicians and booking team to co-ordinate efficient and effective healthcare.
While based in Medical Outpatients they also complete inpatient visits, provide staff education and manage phone advice clinics. Our department is home to 5 other CNSs all representing different medical sub-specialties, providing a supportive and nourishing senior nurse environment.The Medical Outpatient Department is located at Taranaki Base Hospital and runs from Monday to Friday.
Clinics are held by both Clinicians and Clinical Nurse Specialists in various specialities such as Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Infectious Diseases, and General Medicine.For more information on living and working in Taranaki click hereAbout youAs an RN you will need the following: Registration with The Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practicing Certificate Minimum 5 years relevant clinical experience Postgraduate Diploma, RN Prescriber preferred Current Expert or Senior Nurse PDRP Portfolio Strong work ethic and ability to work independently A personal commitment to ongoing learning and development Excellent communication skills and problem solving ability A strong desire to support those living with chronic conditions from a young ageWhile not essential, applicants with previous gastroenterology experience will be highly desired.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
