Welder/Fabricator

All Trades Contract Services are looking for skilled Welder/Fabricators to join our team to work with our client based in the Hawkes Bay.

Due to the nature of the industry, there will be the requirement to work on installations and projects outside of Hawkes Bay including Wellington, Nelson, Southland, Waikato, Gisborne, Marlborough, Auckland, Taranaki, Bay of Plenty, Manawatu-Whanganui, Tasman, Northland, Canterbuiry, Otago, West Coast.

About the role:

• Starting wage of $36.92 per hour
• Permanent contract.
• Minimum guranteed 30 hours per week.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
• Pipework, tanks, boilers, structural and general welding & fabrication

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
• Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock.
• Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines.
• Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools and by heating and hammering.
• Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting.
• Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision.
• Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions.
• Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding.
