The Technical Administrator is a key member of our team, ensuring the smooth running of the practice through efficient office, client, and compliance support.
Key Responsibilities- Front office support — phone, email, reception cover, scheduling client appointments.
- Client onboarding, AML/CFT documentation, and database management.
- Filing Companies Office annual returns and supporting compliance processes.
- Preparing engagement letters, invoices, debtor follow-up, and basic payroll support.
- Assisting with client GST returns and maintaining client records.
- Office administration — staff induction, health & safety, office supplies.
- Supporting accountants with document management, reports, and reconciliations.
- Coordinating client communications, newsletters, and practice updates.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proactive, reliable, and client-focused.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Comfortable learning and working with accounting software (Xero, Xero Practice Manager, MYOB, or similar).
- Familiarity with New Zealand tax deadlines, IRD processes, and Companies Office compliance is an advantage.
- Previous administration experience (accounting or professional services environment preferred).
- Knowledge of accounting/tax practice management systems (e.g., Xero Practice Manager) is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with AML/CFT processes is an advantage.
- A tertiary qualification in business administration or accounting is helpful but not required.
