Hospitality Job at Mt Potts Lodge – Front of House & Cook (Semi-Retired Couple or Couple)

Are you ready for a lifestyle change in one of the most breathtaking parts of New Zealand? Mt Potts Lodge, a remote high-country lodge nestled in the Southern Alps and situated on a working farm, is seeking the right people to help manage and operate our beautiful and unique property.

We are looking for a semi-retired couple, a dynamic couple, or a highly capable single person to join us in a hands-on hospitality role, offering warm, high-quality service in a peaceful, remote setting.

Located approximately 2.5 hours from Christchurch, 1.5 hours from Ashburton, and just over 1 hour from Methven, Mt Potts is a high-country destination offering accommodation, a restaurant, and a café in a truly spectacular alpine environment.

Our lodge is just minutes from the iconic Mt Sunday, famously known as the filming location for Edoras in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The region attracts fans, hikers, skiers, hunters and nature lovers from all over the world—and it never fails to impress.

Key Responsibilities: Welcoming and serving guests with genuine, friendly hospitality

Preparing and cooking simple, hearty meals (no chef qualification needed but someone who is confident in preparing and cooking meals)

Cleaning and servicing guest rooms and lodge facilities to a high standard

Keeping shared areas clean, tidy, and welcoming

Assisting with general lodge duties

Ideal Candidates Will: Be enthusiastic, self-managing, and able to work independently or in a small team

Have a love for looking after people and creating memorable guest experiences

Be able to stay calm under pressure and enjoy rural living

Have previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or cooking (preferred, but not essential)
