We are looking for 2 x Full-Time Experienced Chefs—Continental/International Cuisine—to join our two Clubs and a restaurant in Northland.

It is a great environment to work in, and you will have plenty of freedom to develop your skills and try new things.

We seek a mature professional with strong culinary skills and high food presentation standards for this hands-on role.

The minimum Pay rate would be $28 to $33 per hour, depending upon the experience, and you would work between 30 and 35 hours per week depending on seasonal demand.

Job Responsibilities of a Chef(Including but not limited to)
  • To work with full operational knowledge of all recipes, standards, portion sizes, and presentation styles of dishes produced within the Continental section / International Cuisine.
  • To achieve the budgeted food costs of the Club Kitchen / Restaurants.
  • To carry out month-end food stocktaking.
  • Actively involved in menu planning with the head chef for the Club Kitchen / Restaurant and outside catering.
  • To be involved in menu compilation. You will prepare continental / International dishes on the Club Kitchen's / Restaurant menu.
  • Ensure that the food prepared is of the highest possible standards.
  • Working with the management and setting daily and weekly production levels for the Continental / International Cuisine section.
  • Controlling portion sizes under food specifications.
  • Maintaining stock levels according to levels of business and understanding how this can affect food costs.
  • Plan and allocate jobs/tasks to subordinate staff, ensuring that all items produced are according to standard recipes and portion yields, within agreed-upon time limits, and with minimum wastage.
  • Dealing with food complaints efficiently.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organisational skills.
  • Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of Continental / International Cuisine.
  • Ordering and stock check-in in concurrence with the management.
  • Understand what units raw ingredients are delivered in.
  • Knows how to check deliveries, including weight, temperature, and use-by-dates on raw ingredients.
  • Oversee deliveries and ensure they are stored safely and hygienically in our stock.
  • Check that all food safety regulations and procedures are fully complied with. Report any defective equipment or safety hazards within the kitchen.
  • Conduct any special daily or periodic duties (e.g., Refrigerator temperature readings/recordings).
  • Controlling departmental costs and expenses and conducting regular wastage checks.
  • Assisting in achieving the weekly/period budgeted food gross profit percentage margin.
  • Encourage safe working procedures and comply with statutory and company health and safety regulations, especially those regarding fire precautions, manual handling, chemical usage and storage, waste materials disposal, and accident reporting.
