We are looking for a hardworking, reliable, active, skilled, self-motivated person with a ‘can-do’ attitude to fill this vital role in our school - starting Monday 23rd March.
The successful applicant must have the knowledge of, or ability to:
Keep our school grounds clean and tidy, taking pride in our environmentBe flexible when needed to attend to other matters
Use initiative to report any health and safety hazards including maintenance and support the Principal with health and safety inspections and monthly reporting
Implement/oversee scheduled maintenance programmes
Manage time effectively
Care and maintain the caretaker’s tools eg lawn mower, outdoor tools etc.
Be positive and able to interact with teachers and children in a school setting
Be a good communicator
Current full drivers license
Help the Principal manage contractors on site
Right to work in NZ: either permanently or valid NZ work visa essential
Have a sense of humourBe practical and relate well to others
Supporting school sports teams, trips etc...
This should serve as a guide, but other responsibilities and tasks will come up and be required in order to ensure the smooth and effective operation of school grounds, buildings, plants and equipment.
