The Company
Christchurch Ready-Mix Concrete Limited is a key provider of sand and aggregates products in the Canterbury region and has been operating in Canterbury for over 60 years. The company is made up of four divisions, concrete, aggregates, civil contracting and a workshop delivering mechanical and engineering services.
The Role
Within this role you will work as part of a team to keep the main aggregates plant running and deal with production issues as they arise. This role is physically challenging and mechanical knowledge or aptitude will be an advantage.You will be reporting to the Central Sites Quarry who has overall responsibility for the production plant.
Key responsibilities for this position will be:- Operate the plant
- Plant housekeeping
- Assist with screen changes
- Manual labouring tasks as required
- Undertake and record daily plant prestart checks
- Assist with plant maintenance as required
- Assist with the operation of the filter press
- Ensure products meet specifications
- A 'can do' attidute
- A strong health and safety focus
- Experience operating machinery
- Good mechanical knowledge to identify potential problems at the earliest possible point
- Ability to keep records and report
- An enquiring mind and the ability to solve problems
- A desire to learn and get your head round the plant
- A desire to make great product and achieve results
