Chef

Our client, based in Whakatane, is currently seeking experienced chefs to join the team.

Minimum of 30 and a maximum of 40 hours/week guaranteed.

NZ $ 28.00 - $ 30.00 per hour

Minimum 2 years of experience required.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

• · Preparing and cooking food for takeaway and restaurant
• · Examining each dish for quantity, quality, presentation, and correct temperature
• · Correct portioning (serving size) of the food, adding sauces and gravies.
• · Seasoning and garnishing the dishes
• · Controlling the temperatures of the cooking equipment, ovens, and grills
• · Follow the instructions and prepare the food as per the dietary requirements
• · Storing the food at the required temperatures
• · To assist in ordering the inventory and maintaining the stock levels
• · Suggest new dishes and assist in planning the menu
• · Keeping the work areas always clean, hygienic, and tidy
• · Ensure kitchen compliance meets all health and safety regulations

• · At least 2 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen
• · Time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
• · Innovative and Creative
• · Physically fit and hard working
• · Willing to work from 10 AM to 10 PM Monday to Sunday & Weekends must.
• · Availability during late night closing, Weekends, Public Holidays, and during Christmas and New Year's Break
