Senior Shepherd - Waiteti Farm - Taupo
The Opportunity**
Are you an experienced and independent Senior Shepherd looking to join a small, supportive farm team?
We’re seeking a passionate and skilled shepherd to take on a varied and rewarding role as Senior Shepherd at Waiteti Farm. Working closely with the farm manager, you’ll receive support to grow and develop while contributing to the daily operations of the farm.
Key responsibilities include:- Livestock management and stock work
- Pasture management
- Tractor work
- Winter feeding
- General farm maintenance and fencing
**The Farm**
Waiteti Farm is a productive 650 effective hectare sheep and beef finishing operation. Located near Mangakino and just a short drive to Tokoroa, the farm features rolling terrain well-suited to finishing systems.
This is a great spot for someone who enjoys the outdoors – with hunting and fishing close by, and plenty of space to breathe.
There are two schools in the area and a school bus pick-up just four kilometres from the farm gate, making it a practical choice for families too.
**About You**
Bring your can-do positive attitude and broad farm experience to this varied role, along with:- Proven experience as a senior shepherd
- At least two working dogs
- Proven experience self-managing your time
- Tractor operation experience
- A current NZ drivers’ licence
