Fabrication, Welding & Installation all-rounders!
The roles are for people who can Fabricate from drawings, Weld, can do site installations and general engineering shop type tasks, including some driving.
We are a medium sized engineering company based in East Tamaki. We have been trading for 13 years with consistent growth in our sector. We specialize in structural steel fabrication, metal work fabrication and the installation of ALL, of the work we produce for commercial projects within the Auckland area.We are looking for people who are reliable across the board, with good time management. The ability to communicate effectively is a must, as well as having an excellent command and understanding of English. You must have a reliable method of transport to get to our base in East Tamaki every day and a clean full or restricted driver’s license, so you can drive company vehicles as required.
An excellent attendance track record is also highly desirable.
The ability to speak and understand English is desirable, because you will be communicating with your team members daily and our clients sometimes. You will be working directly with the owner of the company who is hands on in the office, on sites and in the workshop at times.
We are a team of strong communicators who hold casual meetings regularly to keep everyone updated, discuss issues that arise and make sure everyone is happy. We believe that happy staff members are productive ones.Applicants will be considered for their proven experience and skills gained within the industry. Being trade qualified is preferable, however your experience is equally important and will be considered even if you are not qualified on “paper”.
The ability to read and fabricate from drawings, as well as understand them for site installations is a requirement, and a very important aspect of this job.
Health & safety are priorities in our company, so you will need to be able to pass any drug and alcohol testing as required. You will need to be able to fill in basic site safe type documentation on sites as required. You must have no issues with wearing the correct PPE in the workshop, and on sites at all times.
If you do not have sitesafe we will put you through the online course. The safety of all staff members is paramount, so a serious attitude towards this is necessary. We will supply safety boots, hardhat & vest if required.A great attitude all round and flexibility are required as each day will be varied. Your time will be split between the workshop and our Auckland worksites. Being able to work variable hours sometimes would be an advantage. Our work is in the workshop producing & fabricating, Or it is site based installing finished product.
The installations can sometimes span weeks or months in the same location. If you prefer to work fixed hours etc, you are free to take your own vehicle to the site, but you would need to pay for your own parking, as all team members use company vehicles to commute to sites etc.
