About the Role

Health New Zealand, Taranaki are seeking a temporary health care assistant to cover parental leave.

This position is for 0.75 FTE or 60 hours a fortnight

The health care assistant plays an important role in the community child health team, and is responsible for welcoming and supporting Tamariki, rangatahi and whanau in paediatric outpatient clinics. The health care assistant works closely with administrators, nursing and medical staff to coordinate patient flow.

Other responsibilities include maintenance of the waiting area and clinics, maintenance of clinic stock and consumable products for children and rangatahi, in the community.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Child and Adolescent Centre (CACC) is the hub of community child health and provides a range of allied, nursing and medical services to tamariki, rangitahi and whanau in Taranaki. The health care assistant works as part of the Specialty Clinical Nurse Paediatric Community team.

About you

This role is best suited to a health care assistant who can work as part of team but is also able to work autonomously (within scope of practice)

There is the opportunity to show initiative in the role, by creating a warm and inviting environment for patients and visitors.

A good technical knowledge and confidence is required to be able to use applications for reporting faults and maintenance concerns, ordering consumables etc.
