You will have strong established community connections in your focus area and will value strong internal and external relationships essential for achieving sustainable outcomes.You have experience in building strong connected communities and enabling outcomes collaboratively alongside communities and wider stakeholders.
We want to hear from you about what connections, skills and passions you can bring on a determinant of health or for a particular community, that could be ably supported in a 12- month role.A tertiary qualification in public health, health promotion, social science, education, Māori studies, community development or a related field (desired)Previous experience in health promotion, community development or a related roleUnderstanding of health promotion in the Aotearoa New Zealand context, including, Māori models of health, the Ottawa Charter and the determinants of healthDemonstrated ability to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate programs towards achieving pae oraA deep understanding of the systems, structures, policies and legislations that can impact healthExperience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in actionFull New Zealand Drivers' LicenseA good understanding of the ability to work in a culturally and ethically safe way with a range of communities and stakeholdersProven relationship management and influencing skillsProfessionalism, including effective inter-personal communication, teamwork, accountability, self-management, time and risk managementWith the support of Health NZ, you will proactively take care of your own health and safety, to ensure a safe and supportive work environmentWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
