After School Child Carer

We are looking for a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as an After School Child Carer, based on-site at Summerland Primary School in Henderson. This rewarding role involves providing quality care for primary school children in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.
About the Role
This is a fixed-term position with an immediate start through to the end of the school year, with the possibility of continuing in the new year.
Hours of workMonday to Friday, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm during the school term.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and engage with primary school children in a nurturing and positive way
- Plan and lead fun indoor and outdoor activities
- Prepare and serve afternoon tea snacks
- Ensure a safe and secure environment, following health and safety guidelines
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and team members
- Previous experience in childcare or a related field
- Ability to build positive, inclusive relationships with children
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- First Aid certification (advantageous but not essential)
- Must be eligible to work in New Zealand and pass Police Vetting
