At Educare we put a strong emphasis on growing and supporting our own, providing you with the tools and mentorship to become a registered kaiako when undertaking study towards a bachelors degree.
Educare Tree Town has three beautiful separate spaces to support the different stages of development for tamariki. Hui times are a priority creating a sense of togetherness and connection as one centre whanau.
Our whanau continue to use our service throughout their generations, bringing siblings and family members through the centre. With these amazing relationships, we become a part of the local families and get to see the value and whanaungatanga that you have created even after the tamariki take the next step in their learning journey.
About the Role - Mo te Turanga:We’re looking for someone who is passionate about caring for and inspiring young tamariki. You’ll work alongside our qualified registered kaiako to support learning, wellbeing, and playful exploration. Your days will be filled with routines, storytelling, creativity, and building meaningful relationships with tamariki and their whanau.
In this role, you’ll:- Actively participate in all aspects of centre life
- Support tamariki during learning, routines, and free play
- Build positive relationships with tamariki and their whanau
- Take part in planning, reflection, and collaborative learning with the teaching team
- Learn and apply respectful, inclusive, and bicultural teaching practices
- Receive ongoing support, feedback, and professional growth opportunities as you progress through your study

- Be currently enrolled (or about to enrol) in a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE)
- A team-focused, proactive attitude and willingness to jump in

- Willingness to reflect and learn, taking guidance from experienced kaiako.

- Understanding of, and commitment to, Te Whariki, the Treaty of Waitangi, and ECE best practices
Respectful relationships are at the heart of what we do, so we’re looking for someone who can develop strong connections between tamariki, whanau, and our existing kaiako.
This is a full-time role (40 hours/week), rostered 8-hour days between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm.
