Support Worker team required in Whangarei

Permanent support team required to provide support to our kiritahi in their own homes in Whangarei central and Kamo

Due to the nature of support required we are looking for female support workers.

Vacancies are

Total 8 hours

Central Whangarei - Tuesday 4-10pm plus sleepover, Thursday 4-10pm plus sleepover, Sunday personal cares and home help 8am-4pm

Central Whangarei - Monday 4-10pm plus sleepover, Wednesday 4-10pm plus sleepover, Saturday personal cares and home help 8am-4pm

Shifts are rostered and set on a weekly schedule.

Full in-house training will be provided and we will support your commitment to achieve health and wellbeing qualifications as needed.

• Supporting people to make their own choices and live as independently as possible
• Providing hands-on support, personal cares and mobility assistance with daily living and activities
• Using your specialist training in a way that promotes dignity
• Creating a safe, supportive, and respectful environment
• Working in partnership with whanau and professionals to ensure holistic support approach
• Encouraging social participation, inclusion and connection with community
• Providing active support where you focus on people’s strengths and assist them to realise their goals and aspirations

• Ongoing training – upskill with us and grow in your career
• A supportive, values-driven team that’s got your back and truly cares about you

• Full driver’s licence & reliable transport
• Experience working with spinal injured kiritahi - preferred but not essential
• Live locally to Whangarei
• Pass police vetting
• Level 3 or 4 in health and wellbeing qualification
• Strong communication skills, well versed in English
• Understanding of Te Ao Maori and Te Tiriti
• Aotearoa New Zealand residency.
