Mills Bay Mussels Tasting Room & Eatery Role
The main objective of this role is to help deliver the ultimate Mussel Experience for customers visiting the Mills Bay Mussels Tasting Room & Eatery in Havelock.
We have customers visiting from all over NZ and the world. We help them to gain confidence to cook mussels at home, know where to source Mills Bay Mussels in their home towns, learn about the story of how mussels are grown in the Marlborough Sounds, teach customers to shuck mussels, entertain our chef/restaurant & wholesale clients, industry conections and much more!
This role has set working days Wednesday - Saturday, 8:30 am - 3:30/4 pm.
We all learn how to carry out each task in the Tasting Room & Eatery which includes:
- Cooking Mussels
- Preparing mussels & ingredients
- Taking orders from the till
- Shucking demonstrations
- Sharing knowledge and stories about mussels/industry (educating customers)
- Upselling and onboarding potential/wholesale customers
- Clearing tables
- Washing dishes
- Cleaning
- Restocking products
- preparing the Fresh Seafood & Merchandise cabinets
- Monitoring seating area for comfort of customers
On the job training is provided. We are looking for an applicant who loves customer service, sales, following processes and working in a tight team. Experience in fast paced hospitality environments is highly preferable.
