Applying best practice methodologies, you will deliver consistent, high-quality Qlik Sense applications that provide clear and actionable insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.You will take ownership of local Qlik Sense application development within Counties Manukau, while also contributing your expertise to regional and national initiatives.
This means working across the full development lifecycle — from requirements gathering and data modelling through to testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance — ensuring our applications remain functional, accurate, and aligned with evolving business needs.Day-to-day, you will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation, translating complex data requirements into intuitive, user-friendly dashboards and reports.
You will provide advice, oversight, and direction on Qlik Sense best practices, while actively supporting end users to get the most value from the tools and insights available to them.About the TeamOur Counties Manukau Health Analytics team is one of four such teams across the Northern region, working together as part of a wider regional team, and national team.

We provide health analytics and insights which support planning and delivery of better, more equitable health services at a district and regional level.Through data analysis and our business intelligence tools such as Qlik Sense, we inform evidence-based decision-making, identify areas for improvement, enhance overall efficiency in the health system and provide accountability reporting to the public.Our primary objectives are contributing to more equitable and accessible health services, more efficient resource allocation and improved health outcomes.We are located at Middlemore Hospital in Otahuhu, Auckland.About youYou will bring proven experience in data and analytics, with a strong track record of designing and delivering high-quality Qlik Sense applications that meet business needs.

Drawing on best practice development approaches, you will build intuitive, functional dashboards that turn complex data into clear, actionable insights for decision-makers.You will be passionate about continuous improvement — staying current with Qlik's evolving capabilities and applying that knowledge to raise the standard of your work.
Comfortable working across the full development lifecycle, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into robust data models, and deliver solutions that drive real business value.A confident communicator, you will be able to present and interpret analytical outputs to both technical and non-technical audiences.

You will thrive in a team environment, actively supporting and mentoring colleagues, sharing your Qlik expertise to improve capability across the wider analytics function.You will have:A relevant graduate qualification, or equivalent professional experienceKnowledge of, or ability to rapidly develop familiarity with, health service datasets including national collectionsSignificant experience in data extraction via SQL and SnowflakeAdvanced proficiency in Qlik Sense, including data modelling, scripting, and dashboard developmentStrong communication skills - able to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical usersExperience mentoring or coaching others, with a commitment to building team capabilityWorking at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
