This is a fixed-term, full-time (40 hours / week) position, for a period of 12 months. You will be based on the Neurosurgery ward; however, flexibility is required. You may be required to flex into other areas based on clinical demand. As the ideal candidate you will:Proactively work on acute and/or complex caseload delivering high quality evidence based clinical careAssess and manage both communication and swallowing disordersRegular opportunities to use FEES and VFSS as well as regular MDT collaboration around tracheostomy managementCollaborate with team members and other work groups to achieve service objectivesWork on developing positive working relationships with our clients / patients/ whānauCoaching and supervising colleaguesCommitted to professional development and continually striving for improved patient care and experienceAbout the Team/Service/ LocationThis role is based at Auckland City Hospital.

The Speech-language Therapy team is highly skilled and part of the larger Allied Health team in Clinical Support Services. The acute Speech-language Therapy teamwork across a range of specialist areas including stroke, neurology, rehabilitation, respiratory, trauma, general medicine, oncology, haematology, neurosurgery, other surgical wards as required and older person’s health.
