Part Time Registered Nurse
Part-Time Permanent Position – Starting 7th June 2026
Wakefield Homestead Ltd is seeking a motivated and compassionate Tapuhi Whai Rehitatanga / Registered Nurse to join our small supportive team in a permanent part-time role commencing 7th June 2026.
This position consists of three 8-hour morning shifts per week, working 7.00am – 3.15pm. Days are open for discussion, however flexibility is important as roster adjustments may be required to ensure weekend coverage. This is a job-share position alongside another part-time RN.
Wakefield Homestead is a privately owned 24-bed Level 1–2 Rest Home located in Wakefield, Tasman, South Island, New Zealand. We are set in a peaceful rural environment just a 3-minute walk from Wakefield Village and approximately 20 minutes from Richmond and Nelson.
We provide care across a range of contracts including:
Rest Home level care for residents over 65Long-term chronic health contracts for people under 65
Young Persons Disability contracts
Mental Health contracts
Due to the diversity of residents within our service, mental health experience would be a strong advantage. We are looking for someone who is adaptable, calm, compassionate, and confident working with people who may have differing physical, cognitive, disability, or mental health needs.
Wakefield Homestead also takes a holistic approach to care, supporting resident wellbeing through both clinical and natural care practices, including the use of herbal balms to support skin integrity and comfort.
Applicants must:
Hold current NZ Nursing Council registrationBe interRAI trained
Be confident using computers and electronic documentation systems
Be able to work as a team leader with support from the Senior Registered Nurse
Work well within a small team environment
