About the RoleWe have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Te Manawa Taki regional team as Compliance and Health Protection Team Lead, Bay of Plenty, Rotorua.The primary purpose of the role is team management, delivery, performance, and development.
It involves operational leadership, resource utilisation, and coordinating programme planning, delivery, evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and reporting across various programme areas. The people and performance responsibilities of the role work in collaboration with the technical and professional responsibilities of other regional and local roles such as Senior Advisors/Officers, Regional Development and Delivery Leads, and relevant professional leadership roles.The Team Lead role will also deliver operational work and have responsibility for work programme(s) relevant to their professional skill set (depending on the size of the team they are responsible for).About the ServiceThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.
We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.This position is based in Rotorua.About youTo be eligible for this role, you will either:Hold an existing operational role in our ‘Compliance and Health Protection, Bay of Plenty /Rotorua' team and looking to progress into a leadership role orBe eligible to work in an existing operational role within our teamYou will also have:Tertiary qualification/degree in Public Health or a related field or equivalent experienceProven experience in team leadership and management, preferably in a public health context3-5 years' experience in a public health service delivery roleExperience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in actionWillingness to travel across the regionFull New Zealand Drivers' LicenceWillingness to travel as requiredHold (or be eligible to work in) an operational role in the teamWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
