Mechanical Design Engineer

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking for variety and projects that you can really take ownership of.

• Design piping layouts and pressure vessels for pressure reduction systems, CNG compressors, and heat exchangers
• Develop manufacturing and assembly drawings for production and suppliers
• Create support documentation, including service and assembly manuals for components and systems
• Apply engineering first principles to validate material selection, stress calculations, bearing life, and gas flow rates
• Work closely with the production team to optimize designs for assembly and field service
• Collaborate within a strong team environment of experienced professionals

• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry design experience
• Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
• Proficiency in geometric tolerancing of components and assemblies
• Strong communication skills in English
• Experience in project engineering (advantageous)
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Experience with rotating equipment (advantageous)
• Ability to take initiative and drive projects forward
• NZ resident or open work visa currently residing in NZ
• Hands on experience either in assembly or machining

• Lead the development of compressor units and packages
• Update and improve manuals and service instructions for compressor units
