We are looking for a vehicle recovery operator to operate a range of vehicle recovery trucks based in Auckland or Hamilton.

We are looking for tow truck/winch and lift operators to operate a range of equipment for day and night shifts plus on-call nights and weekends (you must be flexible). Work will involve driving trucks, operating winches and lifting equipment, transporting, delivering equipment and vehicles to various locations.

Suitable candidates must hold class 2 driver licence but class 5 would be advantageous, be experienced in truck driving, have excellent customer service skills and be physically fit.

Tasks include:
  • Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading
  • Winching and lifting
  • Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices
  • Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles
  • Making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely
  • Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight
  • Ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage
  • Verifying loading documents, checking condition of goods and obtaining certification of deliveries

Strictly no convictions, all candidates are expected to pass a pre-employment drug test and Police check, driving test and must be able to apply for V endorsement. It is also important that all candidates have their own reliable car to get to and from work.

You must be:
  • Highly skilled & motivated
  • Hard working, pleasant to work with, honest & a team player.
  • Must be able to think outside the square, be fit & professional.
  • Have good communication skills
  • Good spoken English language
  • Must have Classes 1 & 2
Must pass Police clearance.
Hours will be day or night shifts plus on-call days, nights and weekends (you must be flexible)
  • Wages and a fair rate appraisal during interview to determine where you sit in the wage range.
