About the Role We are seeking enthusiastic pharmacy technicians to join our team as a Rotational Pharmacy Technicians.
We have a full-time, permanent position available (40 hours per week Monday
  • Friday). There is also the opportunity to take part in our on call service for aseptic compounding, for which there is remuneration, as well as overtime on Saturdays and public holidays.As a Rotational Pharmacy Technician, there are opportunities to work in all areas of our pharmacy department.

Rotations include dispensary, aseptic production (compounding), drug distribution and clinical.

In our dispensary you will be dispensing off inpatient charts, ward pharmacist orders and limited specialist outpatient prescriptions.

In our aseptic production unit you will play a key role in compounding chemotherapy for the sub-region, spanning Wellington, Hutt and Wairarapa, as well compounding some sterile items for other services, such as ophthalmology, neonates and paediatrics.In our drug distribution team you will manage medication stocks for various clinical areas throughout the hospital and get the chance to work with Pyxis, the automated drug cabinets used on the majority of inpatient ward areas across the campus.

You will also get the opportunity to work with our automated EV54 repacking machine to optimize drug supplies all over the hospital.In our clinical rotation you will work alongside our clinical pharmacists on our inpatient wards, directly interacting with patients to take comprehensive medication histories and conduct patient counselling.About the Team/Service Location The pharmacy team is well respected by clinicians, nursing staff, and senior management across the organisation, and is constantly looking at ways to improve the service and care it delivers.

We provide a comprehensive pharmacy service throughout to the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley District, which includes a clinical service, dispensary & logistics service, and a quality & risk service.
There is also an aseptic production service at Capital & Coast Hospitals (Wellington & Kenepuru).
Through these services, we aim to improve the quality and effectiveness of prescribing, supply and distribution of medicines throughout the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley District.

  • Advanced) (Level 5) qualification and be committed to the Pharmacy Technician profession.
You will be a motivated individual, skilled, a great communicator and team player.
