About the role

Ngakoroa School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Caretaker & Groundsperson to join our close-knit school community on a part-time basis. As our Caretaker & Groundsperson, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness and overall presentation of our school campus located in Drury, Auckland.

What you'll be doing
  • Maintaining the grounds and gardens to a high standards
  • Performing general maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the school's buildings, facilities
  • Identifying and addressing any health and safety concerns to provide a safe environment.
  • Liaising with school leadership to prioritise and action maintenance and improvement projects
What we're looking for
  • Experience in a similar caretaking or handyperson role, ideally within an education or community setting
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of maintenance issues
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to juggle multiple competing priorities
  • A genuine commitment to providing well-kept and welcoming environment
  • An understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to upholding safety standards
