About the Role
As our skilled Excavator Operator, you will be someone who takes pride in their work, consistently delivering high-quality results, and approach challenges with a positive, solution-focused attitude. In addition, you must be able to achieve consistently level surfaces and precise grades across all residential project types.
What does this look like?- Execute detailed foundation excavations with millimeter-level accuracy.
- Prepare and level residential foundations and house pads to exact specifications and grade requirements.
- Perform precision finishing work including final trimming and grading
- Conduct quality control checks using laser levels and survey equipment.
- Participate in general construction tasks outside of machine operation as required.
- Maintain equipment in excellent working condition through daily inspections and basic maintenance.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
- Minimum 5 years' experience operating excavators, with demonstrated excellence in finish grading.
- Proven expertise in precision excavation and finishing work.
- Experience with residential and commercial site preparation preferred.
- A valid Class 2 Heavy Traffic (HT) license is required.
- Demonstrated experience with foundation digs and house pad preparation.
- Advanced skills in reading and interpreting construction plans and grade specifications.
- Proficiency with laser-guided excavation systems and GPS technology.
- Strong understanding of soil types, drainage, and excavation best practices.
- Physical capability and willingness to work outside the excavator cab when needed.
- Excellent attention to detail with ability to work to tight tolerances
