Amberley & Ashburton - CanterburyNC Equipment is looking for a skilled and practical Agricultural Technician / General Engineer to join our service team.
This is a hands-on role working on a wide range of agricultural machinery and equipment across both our Amberley and Ashburton branches, with the position primarily based in Amberley.
The role includes workshop servicing, field service support, machinery setup, repairs, and general engineering work across multiple machinery types.
We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with machinery, and supporting farmers to keep their equipment running reliably.
The Role
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of agricultural machinery including:- Krone hay & grassland equipment
- Hustler feed-out wagons
- Agrisem cultivation equipment
- Bale Baron machinery
- Other agricultural implements and machinery
The role includes both workshop and on-site field service work, as well as assisting with new machinery assembly and setup.
While the role is primarily based in Amberley, the successful applicant will also potentially work from Ashburton approximately 1–2 days per week on average.
Ideally the applicant will live between Amberley and Ashburton for convenient travel between locations. Vehicle packages are available to support travel requirements.
What We Are Looking For- Strong general engineering and mechanical skills
- Welding ability and practical fabrication experience
- Mechanical or engineering trade qualification (preferred), or minimum 3+ years machinery repair experience
- Strong problem-solving ability and mechanical aptitude
- Self-driven with pride in quality workmanship
- Organised and efficient technician
- Agricultural industry experience is beneficial
- Hydraulic experience
- Electrical fault finding
- Class 2 HT licence
- Forklift licence
