Role shaped to the person
At Morrison Farming, we believe in farming with purpose and performance. Fern Flats is our intensive sheep and beef finishing farm near Marton – part of a values-led, multi-generational business that’s focused on growing great stock, running smart systems, and backing good people to keep improving.
We’re not advertising a fixed job. We’re looking for someone with the right mindset – someone who brings energy, skill, and drive – and we’ll shape the role around them.
Why this job stands out:- High-performing, data-driven sheep and beef – work in a sharp, intensive system where performance, attention to detail, and continuous improvement are part of the day-to-day.
- Plenty of variety and challenge – managing multiple stock classes and crop systems keeps things interesting and provides great scope to sharpen your farm management skills.
- Good challenge, better balance – weekend work is rostered every second weekend through winter and calving, and about once a month outside of that.
- Workable hours, space to live – typical days run 7.30am to 5.30pm. The farm’s well set up for recreational access, and it’s less than 45 minutes to Whanganui or Palmy.
- Pathway and growth – whether you’re ready to step into more responsibility or fine-tune your craft, we’ll support your development.
- Care – for livestock, land, people, and doing the job right.
- Excellence – we aim high and enjoy being top of our game.
- Team – we work well together, share the load, and keep each other informed.
- Progress – we’re open, curious, and always looking to improve.
We’re looking for someone with a solid foundation in sheep and beef or dairy – someone who understands good stockmanship, can solve problems, wants to work at a high level, and is looking for a long-term opportunity. Accommodation is available, and remuneration will reflect your experience and potential.
Ready to talk?If this sounds like the step you’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
