Plastics Technician

Job Description
As a Plastics Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all machines and ancillary equipment are set up and perform safely and efficiently, meeting the required quality standards and production outputs. You will complete all technical activities with a high level of competence and timeliness, taking responsibility for basic preventative maintenance and setter training within your designated area.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Install and set up thermoforming machines: Load moulds, adjust clamps, ensure proper alignment.
- Configure machine parameters: Set temperature, pressure, and cycle time to meet product specifications.
- Monitor and adjust machine operation: Identify and address issues like defects or equipment malfunctions and adjust settings to maintain product quality.
- Perform routine maintenance: Clean and lubricate machines and moulds and troubleshoot problems to minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished products: Ensure they meet quality and specification standards.
- Maintain records and report issues: Keep track of machine settings, adjustments, and production data, and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.

Your skills and experience:
- Previous experience as a thermoforming die setter/fitter.
- Knowledge of thermoforming machines, moulds, and related equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with production teams and engineers.
- Adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
Additional Information:
- Wellington site
- This is a permanent full-time role.
- Days of work required: Monday to Friday: 40 hours per week – (8 hour shift on days, afternoons or nights)
