We’re now looking for an experienced CNC Plasma & Laser Operator to join our afternoon shift (Monday–Friday) team.
The Role
This position involves operating our state-of-the-art CNC plasma and laser cutting machines, processing plate up to 25mm thick x 3m wide. You’ll be supported by large overhead gantries and work as part of a skilled, safety-focused production team.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperating CNC plasma and laser cutting machines to production requirements
Safe handling of large steel plates using overhead gantries and lifting equipment
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and job specifications
Monitoring cut quality and ensuring output meets Primero standards
Assisting with general workshop and fabrication tasks as required
Following all health and safety procedures and contributing to a clean, safe workspace
RequirementsMinimum 12 months CNC machinery experience (plasma and/or laser experience preferred)
Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
Strong mechanical aptitude with good attention to detail
Reliable team player with a positive work ethic
Physically fit and comfortable working with heavy steel
Forklift license an advantage (not essential)
Full driver’s license and reliable transport
Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (citizen, resident, or valid work visa)
