The appointee to this post will provide specialist input in the area of Adult Mental Health and Addictions, working both in the Acute Inpatient Service and with the designated multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health team.In the Western Bay of Plenty, Adult Community Mental Health and Addiction Services are delivered by two teams.
One services the northern BOP catchment and the other the southern BOP catchment.Each of the teams has three psychiatrists who work collaboratively. The psychiatrists work across the community and inpatient services and work is distributed by a geographical model.

This means that a patient is seen in the majority of cases by the same psychiatrist in the inpatient and community settings. The psychiatrists provide clinical leadership for the multidisciplinary community teams and work in partnership with the team leader.This is a permanent, fulltime position.
