A New Market Thai Massage Studio is seeking three experienced Thai Massage Therapists.

About Us
Southern Lights Limited, trading as Sky Thai Massage and Spa, was established in
November 2025 in Newmarket, Auckland. Our client feedback has been highly positive for
our services as our team provides high-quality Thai massage therapy.
Our current staff are trained to customise each massage experience to suit our clients'
needs. Every client is different, and our staff are trained to identify specific "problem" areas
to provide the right massage technique to relieve muscle pain and soreness, improve
circulation, increase flexibility, and release tension.
We are looking to recruit three experienced Thai Massage Therapists to join our team to
meet the demands of our growing client base. The successful candidates will be expected to
uphold our excellent reputation by providing clients with a relaxing and welcoming
environment. Moreover, they will identify each client's individual needs and tailor their

massage therapy session to suit their specific requirements.

Position Details
  • Place of Work: Sky Thai Massage and Spa, 51 Remuera Road, Newmarket,
Auckland
  • Duration: Permanent/Full-time (minimum 30 to a maximum of 45 hours per week;
guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week).
  • Shifts: Rostered Monday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, with one day off per week.
  • Remuneration: $30.00–$35.00 per hour.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Applicants must have completed a formal training program (150
hours of Thai Massage) from an industry-recognized institute or the Union of Thai
Traditional Medicine Society.
  • Experience: In addition to the above, applicants shall have at least two years of
work experience as a Thai Massage Therapist.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant's duties will include the following:
  • Assess clients regarding their symptoms, physical conditions, and medical history.
  • Identify each client's specific needs, including tense or painful areas and soft tissue
dysfunction.
  • Develop and provide suitable treatment or therapy to address each client's
problematic areas and specific needs.
  • Act professionally and responsibly, operating within your capacity. Advise clients if
medical intervention is required.
  • Utilize a full range of Thai and other massage techniques to enhance clients’
flexibility, improve sports performance, and prevent injury.
  • Massage the body’s soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments, to assist
in healing.
  • Administer suitable treatments to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and
relieve muscle tension.
  • Maintain proper standards of personal hygiene and presentation.
  • Keep massage areas clean, tidy, and safe.
  • Store and prepare massage materials safely and hygienically.
  • Employ other techniques and complementary aids such as basic oil, essential oil,
warm organic coconut oil, or hot volcanic stone.
  • Perform these following traditional Thai massage services(*):
o Traditional Thai massage
o Deep tissue massage
o Relaxation massage
o Aromatherapy massage
o Coconut oil massage
o Hot stone massage
o Pregnancy massage
o Thai oil deep tissue massage (with medicated oil and hot volcanic stone)
o Upper body focus (head, back, neck, and shoulder) massage
o Foot reflexology massage
o Foot Spa & Reflexology massage
o Warm candle massage

o Sky Thai Signature romantic candle massage (our special signature service)

to assist clients in their rejuvenation and recovery.
(*) While candidates must possess the required formal qualification and foundational
experience in Thai massage, it is not a prerequisite to have previously performed
every specific service listed above. We recognize that experienced therapists
possess the core skills necessary to adapt to various techniques. Comprehensive
induction and specialized training will be provided to ensure all staff can deliver our
unique service menu—including our signature treatments—to the high standards
expected at Sky Thai Massage and Spa.
  • Provide guidance on suitable stretching exercises, relaxation techniques, and
rehabilitation to clients.
  • Understand and follow all New Zealand laws and regulations related to massage
therapy, industry best practice guidelines, and the standard protocols set by the
employer.
  • Work with a positive attitude and follow all lawful instructions from the employer.
  • Advise the employer of any issues that may arise regarding clients in a timely
manner. The employer takes staff safety very seriously, and any client-related safety
issues must be raised immediately.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties required by the employer.
