Located in Tai Tapu, 25 minutes out of Christchurch, the Tai Tapu Hotel was established in 1856. The hotel offers unpretentious genuine kiwi hospitality and food.
We are looking for an experienced cook, minimum 2 years’ kitchen experience, to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record, be honest, reliable and hard working with a great sense of humour. You will be an excellent communicator and be passionate about food.
Attributes and duties include:
- Cook dishes efficiently, following recipes and kitchen processes.
- Plate meals or package takeaways in line with presentation guidelines.
- Monitor and apply food hygiene standards, including proper stock rotation and storage.
- Identify and manage food allergens to ensure guest safety.
- Operate smoothly in hot, busy kitchen environments, often under tight deadlines
- Ability to work within a team.
- An energetic personality, with the ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Able to work under pressure.
- A healthy obsession with food.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Be available to work weekdays and weekend till close (Weekends, public holidays).
- Must have own / reliable transport due to late night finishes.
- Relevant work experience in large format, fast paced pub & adaptable to different cuisines will be an advantage but not essential.
The venue is located at 780 Old Tai Tapu Road, Tai Tapu, Selwyn.
Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand. We hold an AEWW with Immigration NZ.
