Sales Consultant, Carpet Court Alexandra

We are looking for an experienced sales professional with a passion for sales to join us in this exciting and crucial sales role with our friendly team in Alexandra. We strive to achieve amazing interior spaces and create raving fans.

This role is for you if you are looking to make a difference in customers’ lives by helping to transform their homes.

Our sales consultants play an important role as they identify our customer’s unique requirements within their home and in our stunning showroom, to help them make buying decisions about their home soft furnishings (carpet and window treatments).

This position is focused on providing an “inspiring purchasing experience” and extending our customer-first philosophy to be the most helpful interior design store possible.

  • Strong sales experience in consultative selling, with a proven track record of product sales success
  • Confidence to pick up the phone to create opportunities and book appointments to visit customers on-site
  • Demonstrated ability to follow up leads and quotes within a set time frame
  • Impressive customer focus
  • Committed to quality, accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism
  • Must have an eye for detail and strong mathematical and communication skills
  • Provide quotes based on in-home measurements and place orders
  • Good time management skills
  • Enthusiasm and positive energy
  • Ability to maintain high standards with display products in our Showroom
  • Experience in or at least an interest in interior design trends would be beneficial
  • Must be a team player and with the ability to work autonomously
  • Capacity to lift bulky materials
  • Willingness to learn
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook

Your main focus will be selling the whole range of flooring, blinds, shutters, curtains, fabrics and giftware, while enhancing customer satisfaction and relationships.

You’ll care greatly about your customer’s unique style and bring our exclusive products to life by guiding your clients through the consultation process, from initial discussion through to installation and ensuring the follow up makes them a raving fan of yours for life.

We provide a full induction into Carpet Court systems as well as complete product training to allow you to feel confident working with our products.

We offer a good salary plus sales rewards for meeting targets as well as staff discount benefits.

To be eligible for this role, you will be legally entitled to work in New Zealand and have a current driver’s licence. Pre-employment Ministry of Justice and Police vetting will be completed for all appointments.
