About the Role
Key responsibilities:
You will have a desire to provide excellent nursing care to our patients in a tertiary level Intensive Care Unit. You may have intensive care experience or have at least 2 years acute nursing experience in a hospital environment. After completing a 6 week orientation, you will have a commitment to completing our in house Education programme or you may already hold a Critical Care qualification.

About the Team/Service
The Critical Care Department comprises of a 28 bedded unit. 12 beds in HDU and 16 beds in ICU. We are a tertiary level Intensive Care and provide care for patients within the Te Manawa Taki region. The unit provides an excellent opportunity to work in a progressive environment with the latest technology.We are at the centre of a regional referral network across the middle of the North Island. Our patient groups include medical, surgical, neurosurgical, trauma, cardio thoracic surgery and paediatrics. We also run an air retrieval service for the Te Manawa Taki.
The nursing, medical teams and allied health teams are supportive, dynamic and flexible, working together to provide quality care to all patients within the Midland region.
About you- Current NZNC registration and Annual Practicing Certificate
- A minimum of at least 2 years post registration experience in an acute care setting
- Intensive Care qualification desirable, but not essential
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Good level of computer literacy
- Ability to work well within a team
- You will be able to work rostered, rotating shifts including nights and weekends.
