Working closely with the Clinical Psychologist and widermultidisciplinary team, this role supports individuals and groups with complexneeds through evidence-based behavioural assessment and intervention.You will provide leadership in Positive Behaviour Support(PBS), build capability across the team, and contribute to equitable,culturally responsive services that improve outcomes for Māori and allcommunities.

Key responsibilitiesConduct comprehensive functional behaviour assessments and monitor behavioural change in response to interventionsDevelop and implement behaviour support plans using a Positive Behaviour Support frameworkSupport and coach team members to apply behaviour support strategies consistentlyDeliver empirically based behavioural interventions to individuals and groups with complex needsAnalyse data and provide clear, timely written reportsWork in close partnership with the Whaikaha Clinical Psychologist, including active participation in supervisionContribute to service development and continuous improvement across the Whaikaha team Equity and Te Tiriti o WaitangiYou will actively contribute to achieving equitable outcomesby:Supporting Māori health gain and equity-focused service deliveryUpholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in practice, including partnership, equity, active protection, and mana motuhakeSupporting tangata whenua' and mana whenua'led changeDemonstrating awareness of colonisation, power relationships, and cultural impact on service deliveryShowing commitment to self-reflection, critical consciousness, and taking a stand for equitySupporting Māori-led and Pacific-led responses About youEssentialUndergraduate degree in PsychologyTraining in Applied Behaviour AnalysisStrong knowledge of Positive Behaviour SupportExperience working with neurodiverse individualsExperience working within a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrated experience implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practiceWorking understanding of bicultural practice and commitment to culturally responsive service deliveryDesirableMaster's degree in psychologyExperience providing education, consultation, or supervision to colleaguesExperience working within complex systemsExperience designing and delivering group programmes Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
