Clinical Assistant - Specialist Dermatology

The Opportunity
We are seeking an organised and attentive Clinical Assistant to join the team at the Skin Dermatology Institute. This is a part-time role based in our purpose built clinic at Tauranga Specialist Centre.This is not a general caregiving role. Instead, it is a technical support position focused on clinical readiness, surgical sterilisation, and patient flow. You will be the "engine room" that keeps our specialist theatres and clinics running smoothly and our patients feeling supported.
What Your Day Will Look Like- Theatre Turnover: Managing the efficient reset of our operating rooms between surgical procedures, ensuring every detail is ready for the next patient.
- Clinical Meticulousness: Taking responsibility for the cleaning and sterilisation of surgical instruments (autoclave) to the highest specialist standards.
- Specialist Chaperoning: Accompanying patients during consultations and procedures, providing a calm and professional presence.
- Supply Management: Ensuring all clinical areas are fully stocked and prepped for wound management, biopsies, surgeries and Mohs surgery.
- A Premium Environment: Work in a modern, sustainable clinic—no heavy lifting or "ward-style" chaos.
- Focused Skillset: Gain specialised experience in a surgical dermatology setting.
- Predictable Balance: Part-time hours with no nights, no weekends, and no public holidays.
- Competitive Wage: $28–$34 per hour (negotiable based on your experience in sterile or surgical settings).
About You
This role is ideal for someone from a Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, or Sterilisation Technician background.
