Te Haeata/The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Principal Advisor Property to join our Strategy and Planning team.This is a rare opportunity to influence the long-term investment, optimisation, and stewardship of a large and diverse government property portfolio that supports justice services across Aotearoa New Zealand.Reporting to the Manager Property Strategy & Planning, you will provide trusted strategic advice and specialist planning support to guide major property initiatives across the Ministry.
You will lead the development of Treasury standard business cases, identify and resolve complex infrastructure challenges, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.You will play a key part in shaping the Ministry's future property footprint, supporting both operational excellence and long-term capital investment.You will be a senior voice in property planning and will contribute to decisions with real-world impact on communities, court users, and staff across the country. Ō pūkenga/Skills and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will have:demonstrated senior experience and knowledge in property or infrastructure, ideally within a large public service agencystrong knowledge of machinery of government including public sector investment frameworks, and business case development (Better Business Cases)exceptional written and verbal communication skillsa natural ability to prioritise tasks and work loadexperience working with or alongside Māori organisations, and a sound understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.financial literacy and the ability to interpret investment data and performance trendsability to lead, influence and build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

Utu ā-tau/SalaryThe appointing salary for this role will be between $129,129 and $179,192 based on skills and experience.
