About the role:

  • Coordinate scoliosis outpatient clinics in Dunedin and Christchurch
  • Support patients and whanau throughout the surgical journey
  • Collaborate with spinal surgeons, theatre staff, and allied health professionals
  • Provide pre-operative education and post-operative follow-up
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to research initiatives
  • Ensure culturally safe and responsive care for all patients

About you:

  • Registered health professional (e.g. Nurse, Physiotherapist, Allied Health) with current APC
  • Experience in orthopaedics, spinal care, or surgical coordination preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Commitment to patient-centred and culturally responsive care
  • Research experience or interest in clinical improvement is an advantage

Salary range

This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($116,040 p.a) and Step 3 ($127,674 p.a pro-rata) of the Designated Senior Nurse scale Grade 2.
