Christchurch - Superstar Warehouse Supervisor required!
Join a company that feels like whanau.
At Southern Furniture Movers, we’re not just shifting furniture – we’re building a team that genuinely cares.Since 2010, we’ve grown from a single truck in Dunedin to a nationwide operation by sticking to what matters: honesty, reliability, and a people-first attitude. You won’t just be another number here. You’ll be part of a close-knit team that backs each other, delivers with pride, and knows how to have a laugh while getting the job done right.
We generally only move New Furniture, so no household removals!
Southern Furniture Movers is on the hunt for a hands-on, detail-focused Warehouse Supervisor to take charge of one of our busiest branches. If you thrive on running a tight ship, know how to juggle priorities, and bring calm to the chaos – we’d love to hear from you.
This is a sole-charge role when it comes to managing inventory, picking and preparing orders, and checking furniture. You’ll work alongside our operational team, who handle the loading and unloading of trucks – but when it comes to what’s going out, you’re responsible for making sure everything is picked correctly, labelled, and ready to roll.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Running the day-to-day warehouse ops solo – picking, labelling, inventory control, and ensuring everything’s ready for dispatch.
- Working closely with our operational team to keep freight moving safely and on schedule.
- Managing inwards goods and keeping our stock system tidy and accurate.
- Spotting and fixing any issues before they turn into problems – accuracy and accountability are key.
- Keeping the warehouse organised, compliant, and safe – no shortcuts.
- Supporting the Branch Manager with reporting, process improvements, and cross-branch coordination.
- Ensuring compliance with MPI container devanning rules (bonus if you’re already an AP).
What You’ll Need:
- Proven experience in a warehouse or operations role – ideally in furniture, logistics, or 3PL environments.
- Self-motivation and strong time management – you’ll be running your own workflow day to day.
- Sharp attention to detail and a knack for process.
- Confident using Technology - we are a systems based company
- Effective communication – written, verbal, and across teams.
- Physically fit – some heavy lifting involved.
- MPI knowledge and AP certification preferred (or willing to complete).
- A good sense of humour and solid work banter – we’re serious about the job, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously
What We Offer:
- A role where you can own the warehouse space and be trusted to get it done right.
- A supportive, down-to-earth team across branches who’ve got your back.
- Competitive pay, practical systems, and a growing national network.
- Real impact and long-term opportunity.
- A workplace where people stick around – because they’re valued
- A business that genuinely believes in “no drama, just delivery”
