This position is full-time, fixed term for 12 months and is accredited by the RACP for either General Paediatric or Community Child Health training. This post is very popular as an ideal chance to refine General Paediatric skills in a friendly, supported environment, during advanced training, prior to becoming eligible to apply for consultant posts.
You will be offered a wonderful opportunity to broaden exposure and widen knowledge given the extensive breadth of cases seen in the region.The Paediatric team of consists of 10 Consultants supported by 4 Registrars and 4 House Officers. In 2026 the maternity and neonatal unit at Taranaki Base Hospital will move into a purpose-built new unit.
